We would like to object to the construction and operation of an anaerobic digression facility. Our objection is because the site is not being built on a brown filed site or close to existing operational agricultural buildings. Further the proposed site is liable to flooding especially around the main site location and is only 100m from the river Stour. The lagoons location is surrounded by dikes and watercourses again which a liable to flooding which would inevitably lead to contamination of the water course. We are also concerned about the noise and traffic impacts. We understand the plant will operate 24 hours a day and as such have a significant impact on the noise in the local area. Further the roads already struggle to cope with the traffic and congestion and this will obviously be made worse. The roads leading to and from the lagoon site are north suitable for continuous use by heavy transport. The A1307 is already a traffic black spot and further heavy lorries and farm vehicles on this operating over extended hours during the day throughout the year will make what is already a bad road even worse and negate the measures that are being put in further along the A1307. The economic impact on Haverhill could be disaster, a town that is already deprived and need investment from major injury having this site on the outskirts of the town is likely to put off any investment from major employers in the technology and pharma industries that are looking to relocate. Why is the brown field site of the old meat process factory in Kedington not being used or indeed land owned by Thurlow Estate within Thurlow itself.
