I am a regular visitor to Withersfield and enjoy rural walks in the area such as from the village to the Withersfield Road close to the Flying Shuttle pub. I am opposed to the construction of the AD plant at Spring Grove farm for the following reasons:
1. It is much too close to the village of Withersfield and the housing at the Arboretum. This will spoil the beauty and natural environment of this area by inserting an industrial style unit into a natural landscape.
2. Noise from the AD plant and extra vehicle movements will negatively impact local residents.
3. Smells from the plant will massively affect local residents. A similar plant near Royston can be smelled from some considerable distance away, even through the sealed windows whilst travelling on a moving train.
4. Noise, increased lighting and vehicle movements are likely to adversely affect local business such as pubs, and house prices in the area.
5. The plant only offers a very small number of local jobs, far too few to outweigh all of the negative aspects.
