I wish to object to the plant being built because of the negative effects it will have on this side of town. Despite what the company claims it will smell, will lower house prices and I am concerned about its safety given what happened recently when lightening hit near Oxford.
In addition, the site is next to the reservoir in Haverhill which is very popular with walkers and this will be horrible and unusable if the plant is built and smells, not to mention the detrimental effect it will have on local wildlife.
In a recent survey, 85% of existing biogas plants in the UK and Germany were found to leak methane which will undoubtedly cause a horrible smell, will reduce air quality and is really bad for the environment. I want to be able to open my windows and play in my garden with my daughter without having to smell rotting waste.
Please, please do not allow this plant to be built. It is of no benefit to Haverhill and those who live here. Please put the quality of life and health of Haverhill residents first.
