I would like to strongly object to the proposed biogas plant due to the following reasons ; Increased traffic - there will be more traffic on the A1307. Much of my work is in the Cambridgeshire / Hertfordshire are and travel on this road frequently . The road is already busy with traffic and I am concerned that this will lead to further delays and increased risk of accidents on an already dangerous road. Additional noise - The 24 hour operation will cause noise pollution in the local area , this will impact local residents, especially those who work on shifts, walkers, and patrons of the supermarket and local pub, The Flying Shuttle. This is likely to have an adverse impact on trade for the pub. There is also a local playgroup very near to the proposed site. Children are sensitive to noise and children with extra needs may find the additional noise disturbing, having an impact on their well being and enjoyment of the play group. I work in the property industry and know that the above points will impact on local house prices at the detriment of owners through no fault of their own. In this current economic climate, this is unacceptable when families are already being heavily impacted by the increased cost of living. This proposed plant is close to residential areas and a super market and is very likely to disturb local residents and customers of the supermarket who travel from further away. Increased Flood risk- there is an increased flood risk , replacing a natural landscape with foundations required for the proposed plan. I understand that areas of the site are at a higher flood risk. I have been present in this area during flooding several times already this year, these events are going to become more common. Impact on the town - I am concerned that the biogas plant being built will have an adverse impact on the town . The number of jobs it is going to bring in will not compensate for the impact that it will have on the local residents and economy .
