I object to the construction of an anaerobic digestion facility, in particular the lagoon site which is in close proximity to West Wickham. I object on the following grounds:
Adverse affect on environment and surrounding area:
1. The proposed Lagoon site and surrounding area is currently an area of natural beauty with no previous construction, this change of use would have a huge negative affect on the wildlife and other people enjoying this area. It is well known during the process of anaerobic digestion the hydrogen sulfied which is produced has a rotten-egg odor, this significant smell will have a detrimental affect to the surrounding area, well outside of the proposed sites grounds. This smell will prevent people from walking and enjoying the many footpaths in this area.
Danger to other road users:
2. The roads connecting the anaerobic digestion facility and Lagoon site are in not suitable for lorries and trucks, this will be dangerous for vulnerable road users such as cyclists. I regularly cycle around these roads and meeting a truck carrying supplies to the Lagoon site will be dangerous. I do not want any increase in volume of traffic along these peaceful rural roads in the countryside. An alternative site with large roads is needed.
