I wish to register my objection to the application no SCC/0045/23SE - The Construction and operation of an anaerobic digestion facility, associated infrastructure and new access road, connecting pipeline and covered digestate lagoons.
My objections are the following:
Congestion which would be caused by traffic travelling to and from the site during build and once operative. This is already a busy road and it will have a huge impact on a road which serves as a thoroughfare to Cambridge and Bury St Edmonds.
The overall safety of the production of flammable substances such as methane in a densley populated area.
The air quality will be affected in a densley populated area, with winds likely to blow the smell over to Haverhill, Withersield and the surrounding villages.
There will be a visual impact on the landscape, Haverhill is densely populated so the surrounding green fields makes a positive impact for the locals.
We are seeing housing developments appearing which will increase the population, surely a waste plant such as this is going to decrease the likelihood of developers wanting to acquire land - causing an impact for all?
This will also impact on the natural environment hugely and I feel that a better (less populated) space would be more suitable.
Kind regards
James Odell
