I am very concerned that an Anaerobic Digester plant is being proposed so close to the fourth largest town in Suffolk (28,000+ population), as proven at other sites without doubt the smell it would generate will be very unpleasant and detrimental to the residents and well being of Haverhill. The increase in traffic on the existing road network will be intolerable, - it is stated an additional 148 lorry/tractor movements per day will visit the Digester plant, on a road (A1307) that already has heavy traffic from the Culina Warehouse (apparently a truck movement every 6 minutes) plus the ever increasing commuter traffic to and from Cambridge. It is surprising that an alternative site such as West Wratting Airfield has not been considered. The Flood risk on the proposed site appears to be ignored, as I understand it the area is designated Flood Zone 3 which suggests there is a high probability of flooding, plus it's proximity to the Stour brook on the edge of West Town Park is a threat to both wild habitats and public space. Flooding further down the Stour at Sturmer and Wixoe is also a concern. The visual impact of the proposed Digester plant on the surrounding area and in particular the expanding Arboretum Housing Development plus the EPI Centre be an eyesore.
