I strongly object to the proposed Anaerobic Digestion Facility being considered so close to Haverhill - it is a well proven fact that Anaerobic Digestion Plants give off high levels of unpleasant odour which could become detrimental to local residents. This proposed plant is within 500m of Office buildings (Epicentre) and a residential dwellings (The Arboretum). The Baldock plant is some 3km+ from the nearest development and still causes an odour problem !
There is no evidence that this will provide any benefit to Haverhill, other than to the local landowner for the sale of the land parcel and potentially compostable by products (?) - the c.5 specialist jobs it will create will almost certainly be filled by individuals currently located outside of the Town.
This proposed plant should be rejected out of hand as there are zero benefits to either Haverhill or Suffolk and only negative impacts from increased traffic movements, resulting odours, an eyesore development, potential flood risk and associated environmental impact
