I have lived in Haverhill for over 70 years, I have no grievances about town expansion as I have witnessed most of it but this development should be located in an area a considerable distance from a crowded population such as Haverhill. There will be intolerable smells, it is being built on a flood plain and accidents such as spillages will happen causing contamination to the flood park and the stream that goes through the town. I am a member of the Suffolk Wildlife Trust and that area is a real asset to the town. It will also cause more congestion on the A1307 which is extremely busy. This type of plant so close to Haverhill will discourage families from wanting to live here and industry will decline. Our town desperately needs employment and yes this plant will create a small amount of jobs but this will deter the type of employment that Haverhill needs in larger numbers. There are over 5,000 new houses being built here and a large majority will be using the A1307 . As you are aware there has been explosions in Oxfordshire but this plant is not situated in such a hugely populated area as the one proposed here. As Acorn are going to construct a pipeline to West Wratting to transport sileage to be used in agriculture surely it would be better to locate this plant on the old airfield which is also closer to the A11. If this plant does get built then myself and probably numerous other people will be looking for a substantial reduction in our Council Tax bill for having to endure the horrible smells we will get as Haverhill is in the West and also in a valley.
