I object to the anaerobic digestion facility at Spring Grove Farm, Withersfield. The building and development of the intended site will impact the nature and biodiversity of the immediate area forever, plus the smell, light and noise pollution generated from this will be horrendous for the residents of Haverhill and surrounding villages. Regardless of any comments in the impact assessment stating it as 'not significant', there is evidence to the contrary available in respect of other sites of this nature already in operation. Haverhill has a substantial number of residential homes and business premises within 1 mile (and much closer) to the proposed facility. The smell is going to have a devastating and detrimental impact on thousands of residents. The site will be located adjacent to the Flood / West Town Park as well as a number of footpaths and Trails that I and many walkers etc... use. The Traffic statement states there will be as much as 58 HGV / Tractor movement per day for 10 months of the year and up to 148 HGV / Tractor movements during the peak periods. This is substantial and will significantly increase the volume on an already busy and dangerous road. It confirms that traffic from local farm hubs will see likely routes including Silver Street, Skippers Lane, Common Road, Dean Road and West Wickham Road etc. These are all small roads that go through villages and will further impact residents. The proposed location is within a designated Flood Zone 3 and a greater probability of flooding. This is completely the wrong location.
