I would like to inform you of my strong opposition to the AD plant at Spring Grove Farm.
Below I have listed a number of reasons as to why this development will hugely impact mine and many residents in the area.
The smell, noise and increased traffic will impact my daily life massively, therefore impacting my health and wellbeing. The look of the AD plant, plus lights/noise (at night) will impact the local area, bringing down house prices, affecting local businesses (2 local pubs), why would people looking to buy a house want to live here knowing they'll be near an AD plant?
I have been in Withersfield almost 2 years and I am incredibly worried about the future and how this could dramatically affect the price of my house and the poor people just about to buy a house in the Aboretum Phase 2.
It seems local residents will be dealing with this AD plant on behalf of the rest of the UK, which will actually only 'benefit' the local community by bringing to it '15 jobs and cheaper fertiliser'. As stated on Acorn's website "Anaerobic digestion will play a crucial role in decarbonising the national gas grid in the UK." "With spikes in energy prices, a supply of biomethane to the grid will decrease dependence on international supply by shortening supply chains and driving down prices." So the AD plant will only benefit us the same as it will benefit the entire UK in terms of driving down energy prices, despite bringing with it so many cons that we would be dealing with on a daily basis.
