Strong odour - anyone that has driven down the A505 near Baldock knows the gut wrenching smells these plants omit. The prevailing wind will carry it across the town . Anyone living / travelling over that side of town , using The Shuttle , Sainsburys , the nursery will be badly affected . Traffic congestion on A1307 - there will be multiple vehicles a day bringing organic and poultry waste and taking methane and CO2 gas away. As you know this is already a 'high casualty ' route. Flooding risk - This increases the risk in the area , which will have a knock on effect on the town's flood defences Explosion - A plant of its type exploded in Oxford when it was hit by lightening earlier this month Pollution - it is next to the 'flood park ' which is a designated County Wildlife Site by Suffolk Wildlife Trust Eyesore- This will be the biggest plant of its size in the country and will operate 24 hours a day at some points during the year . It will cover 32 acres of land and the 5 digestion tanks will be the same height as the Epicentre! Haverhill's Reputation - We have worked hard to reverse the reputation of the town , we have cutting edge firms occupying the Epicentre and one of those companies has already objected stating they think they will find it hard to retain and attract staff if it goes ahead.
