I wish to object to this application on the following grounds. Firstly, the increase of heavy goods vehicles on the A1307, which is considered as a high accident risk road and is at maximum capacity for traffic. Secondly there is the smell that will emanate from the site and will be carried on the prevailing wind to Haverhill. Finally, there is the archeological concerns. The plan for a road from Withersfield to Spring Grove Farm, and this would cross what I thought would have been the route of the Roman Road. The Roman Road is a Wildlife Trust reserve from Fulbourn to Horseheath, but its route must once have gone from the Roman settlements of Grantchester to Colchester and would have been a public right of way. The footpath stops at Silver Street (the road from the A1307 to Withersfield) but the Roman Road must have continued probably along the hedgerow at the back of Spring Grove Farm to the Flood Control Area (Meldham Washlands), possibly following the old railway line. The council should be preserving these potential historic sites
