As the principal of this nursery school (which is extremely close to the proposed site) I wish to object to the proposal on the grounds that it will affect the outdoor play experience of the children - many of whom are on the nursery site from 7.30am to 6.30pm. The children are currently allowed to play outside whenever they wish, but taking into account reports of foul smells from similar projects it appears that we may have to restrict their outdoor time - this is unacceptable for young children. The children range in age from 3 months to 4 years and some of them are asthmatic, which will only be exacerbated by a drop in surrounding air quality. The HGVs required for the project will add to the already heavy volume of traffic (at certain times) - as well as affecting the noise and air quality - making it hazardous for our families attempting to turn onto the A1307.
