This site will be disastrous in terms of the well-being of the town's residents due to the smell, and reduce the value of properties in the vicinity. Nobody will want to live near this site, and it will likely impact the whole of the town on days when the wind blows in a certain direction. I work at IWM Duxford, and the smell from the facility of this type on the A505 is overpowering. It smells like a farmer has been muck spreading with pig's excrement to save money, and that they're doing it right under one's nose, rather than the sweet smell of cow dung. (Being from the countryside, I know there is a massive difference between the two types!) Haverhill already has very little going for it; it has poor transport links, over-development of housing with no infrastructure, soon to be no banks, and should this application be successful, I'd bet good money that Withersfield, Hanchett End and much of the 'Cambridge side of town' will suffer terribly and become less desirable. The Flying Shuttle will likely go out of business because nobody will want to sit outside or dine there, and Sainsburys will likely lose customers, too. Not to mention the poor children playing outside at Colourbox Montessori being subjected to the stench. The entrance to Haverhill is already framed by a giant toilet roll, please don't build the toilet to go with it!!!
