Hi, I would like to object to the AD proposal at Land to the north of Spring Grove Farm, Withersfield, Suffolk, CB9 7SW. there is no way the site should be allowed to go ahead. the planned location is on the gateway to Haverhill. the first thing you'll see or smell (as the case is with many other AD plants nationwide) will be the AD plant, right next to the infamous "toilet roll" roundabout, I can imagine the jokes.. the site is far to close to the Epicentre, residential housing and a nursery. all of which will be effected by the AD plant, from noise, smell and the risk of injury. there are two plant's close to us, one on the A505 and one on the A10. both plants cause a nasty smell, the road's are plastered with mud and muck during the winter months leaving the road at a higher risk of having an accident. if anything we should learn from the recent explosion of an AD plant in Oxfordshire that the plant could and will pose a real risk to those working and living close by. if things were to go south on site we'd be looking at 10's if not 100's of people potentially at risk of injury from an explosion of a massive Co2 leak on site. the lagoons used for drying up the by product is close close to the pub and nursery your are literally guaranteed to be able to smell it and have a detrimental impact on health. the plan included in this application is also much larger than the original plan shown on Acorn's website. the area now runs through the village out to the north whilst the original plan was confined to Spring Farm only. I'm all for going green and renewable's. this plant is totally in the wrong place. if anything it should be built out towards the A11, Acorn have told us the Gases produced need to be taken to Milton Keynes to be processed and imported into the gas system, surely the traffic and environmental pollution this causes driving a HGV 60 miles each way and the 100's of extra vehicles needed to feed the AD plant mitigates the ecological / environmental benefit gained. if Acorn reconsidered and decided to put a solar farm on the site instead the opposition would be minimal / non existent Kind regards Chris
