I object to the application on the following grounds:
1.The location for the proposed digester is on land on the edge of haverhill adjacent to the flood park specifically built following years of floods in town, with the massive increase in housing and loss of green spaces this facility barely copes. The proposed site will in my opinion further add to the flood risk in Haverhill.
2. The proposed roads being used to serve the site are not suitable, small country lanes and an already extremely busy A1307, the roads are unfit for the HGV numbers and make for a very dangerous road.
3. Noise and Light pollution will be detrimental for a large portion of residents.
4. The impact on nature and Biodiversity on the proposed site is not acceptable.
5. The proposed site is adjacent to a public footpath used by many walkers/dog walkers, the countryside around Haverhill is fast diminishing and this site if it goes ahead will no longer be useable (even if still present) due to the noise, traffic, smell, by walkers which in my opinion will be very detrimental to their mental health.
6. This facility is proposed extremely close to a relatively new business park, Children's Nursery, Eatery and new estates all of which will be impacted by noise and smell. I cannot imagine the Flying Shuttle or cafe at the Epi Centre remaining open. Haverhill has over recent years suffered greatly with loss of retail outlets and places to eat. It is simply hanging these businesses out to dry for the sake on one landowners benefit and the council should be ashamed if they do not take the same view and support the businesses.
6. Smell, Whilst I appreciate reports the smell will be negligible, this is frankly ridiculous. This will be difficult to live with on a daily basis and unbearable in the summer months affecting our air quality.
